Failed elections for Stadium Area constituency

MASERU – The Basotholand Total Liberation Congress (BTLC) candidate in the Stadium Area constituency, Molefi Chapi, has died.
This has caused the Stadium Area constituency returning officer to declare a failed election late today.
According to a letter issued by the Independent Electoral Commission this afternoon, elections will not be held together with other constituencies tomorrow and next Friday.
The letter says King Letsie III will call a fresh election for the constituency.
The letter concludes that the election for the constituency will be held next week Friday only for proportional representation with the use of a special ballot.
