MASERU – THE First National Bank of Lesotho (FNB) this week launched a new dynamic brand communication campaign dubbed The Changeables.
The campaign is meant to celebrate Basotho who take challenges in their stride, transform obstacles into opportunities, and embrace changes as a way of building a better future for themselves and others.
The launch was held in Maseru yesterday.
The head of marketing and communications at FNB, Masakoana Marakabei, said they are changing their brand after realising that Covid-19 has changed people’s lives.
Marakabei said people have changed the way they think and the way they do things forcing the bank to also change how it does business and interact with clients.
The new FNB App was one of the changes they had initiated, Marakabei said.
She said the app enables people to access banking services via their phones instead of traveling and waiting in long queues.
She said they were also promoting e-commerce as one of the initiatives that will improve how they interact with their clients.
“If we get comfortable in our old styles without bringing changes to the bank, we would not be delivering services to people,” she said.
She said they have so far helped about 10 entrepreneurs who have adopted the changes by producing new products which will in turn create jobs and stir up economic growth.
She said they had also changed their corporate colours into brighter colours.
Marakabei said they had also changed the style of advertising where they have adopted Basotho’s elements.
“You can now see women and men wearing Basotho blankets in our adverts, which was not the case before,” she said.
The chief executive officer of FNB, Delekazi Mokebe, said they are encouraging people “to change by bringing changes in the bank which will boost them in changing”.
She said they realised that due to Covid-19 organizations, businesses and individuals have changed their way of doing things.
She said this is why FNB has embarked on this initiative so as to help Basotho who are willing to adopt the changes.
