Mosito’s star continues to shine

MASERU – COURT of Appeal President Justice Kananelo Mosito’s career continues to flourish despite the government’s efforts to oust him.
Justice Mosito was recently invited join the Africa Judges and Jurists Forum (AJJF), a network of African judges and jurists established with the aim of promoting the rule of law on the continent.
Membership to the AJJF is by invitation only.

In its invitation the forum said it had been impressed by his work “in maintaining judicial standards even in a difficult environment”.
“If you find our invitation to be attractive to you, then your core role as a member would be to contribute to the objectives and programming of AJJF and to participate in its activities,” said the invitation seen by thepost.

His tenure will be for three years and subject to renewal by the board on recommendation from the secretariat.
Established in 2012, the AJJF focuses on access to justice, elections, rule of law, economic transformation and conflict resolution.
Justice Mosito has accepted the membership which is considered an accolade in the legal fraternity.

But while his star continues to shine the government is pushing for impeachment on allegations of misconduct, charges some in the legal community view as trumped up.
Justice Mosito was recently appointed pro-vice chancellor of the National University of Lesotho.
