MASERU – Mehalalitoe captain Boitumelo ‘Queen’ Rabale is closing-in on a goalscoring milestone since joining Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies in 2020 where she continues to bag collective and individual accolades.

Despite playing as a midfielder, the-26-year-old, who cut her teeth playing football with boys in Qoaling, has been ruthless in front of goal netting a brace in each of her last two games for Sundowns in the Hollywoodbets Super League.

Rabale has now scored eight goals in 10 games taking her tally to 43 since arriving at Sundowns and in need of seven more goals to reach a 50-goal milestone midway through her third season with the Tshwane giants.

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies coach Jerry Tshabalala described Rabale as a ‘special player’ after the Lesotho star came back from injury to score a brace in a 3-2 victory over City Lads.

The Lesotho star was once again on her best form over the weekend netting another brace in the 3-1 win over JVW as Sundowns maintained their dominance at the top of the Super League.

“When you have Rabale in your team, you always have a special player. What an amazing player she is,” Tshabalala said after Rabale scored a brace against City Lads.

Speaking on her impressive run with Sundowns, Rabale stated that the motivation is to win every game they play.

Rabale has already lifted the Hollywoodbets Super League title twice, the COSAFA title and the CAF Champions League since joining Sundowns.

“No matter what, at the end of every 90 minutes, we have to get the three points and that is what pushes me to put an extra effort to help the team win its matches,” the Mehalalitoe skipper stated.

“Our goal is to be ruthless and not drop points unnecessarily to go all the way to successfully defend our league title.

“As an individual, I would love to win the player of the season or top goal scorer accolades and the collective goal is to defend our league title, win the COSAFA Women’s Championship as well as the CAF Women’s Champions league,” she said.

Rabale was last season crowned the Hollywoodbets Super League Player of the Season after scoring 24 goals but contributed 27-goals in all competition for Sundowns Ladies.

She was named in the Team of the Tournament at both the COSAFA Women’s Championship as well as the CAF Women’s Champions league played in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and Rabat, Morocco, respectively.
