A case in which a soldier is facing charges of murder and attempted murder was this week postponed to November 28 this year.

Kokolia Matooane Moremoholo is being charged with the murder of a Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) officer Tšenola ’Mako. He is also being charged with attempted murder after he tried to shoot Colonel Bulane Sechele on August 11, 2011.

In a press statement this week, army spokesman Colonel Ntlele Ntoi said Moremoholo became unruly during the proceedings of a court martial.

Moremoholo was facing charges in the court martial when all of a sudden he produced a gun and shot ’Mako and Sechele. The army did not reveal what charges Moremoholo was facing.

’Mako died from his wounds at Makoanyane Military Hospital while Sechele was hospitalised.

This week, High Court judge, Justice Teboho Moiloa postponed the case to November 28, 29 and 30.

The bail for Moremoholo was also extended to November when the matter will be heard in court.
